Material Testing

Last week, we carried out an experiment to find out what type of material would make the best raincoat for a metal robot.

We made sure that our testing was fair – using the same amount of water, poured from the same height and using the same size of container. There were lots of splashes and water everywhere! We were unanimous with our findings – plastic was the most waterproof material.

Today, we investigated the different properties of materials, trying to find some that were stretchy, bumpy, smooth, rough, bendy, magnetic, soft, shiny and many more.
