Exciting experiments

As this week has been science week, James’s Jellyfish have been conducting some exciting experiments. Our first experiment was one involving an egg. We placed an egg in a jar of vinegar in the hope it would turn into a bouncy egg! The children have kept a close eye on the egg, checking it daily and talking about how it’s changed each time. On Friday, we bounced the egg which did indeed bounce before popping all over the table! We have also made our own lemon volcanos. The children released the lemon juice by mashing the lemons with lolly pop sticks before adding the bicarbonate of soda and food colouring, we were all very excited by the frothy lemons! One of the Jellyfish very kindly brought in a mini rocket experiment which was extremely exciting for all! Our final experiment was one involving skittles ! The children all arranged their skittles around their paper plates before pouring water onto the plates and watching the skittles make a beautiful rainbow.
